Thank you for writing such a thorough assessment of the events that have led up to this weekend's Pride Parade. While my family has supported Will 100% in his quest to make the country a better (read: "equal and just") place for ALL people, and have adjusted their schedules and re-allocated resources to see that he could attend events that had invited him to participate -- in New York, San Francisco, and Conway, AR! -- they have encountered increasing opposition to Will's decision to not recite nor stand for the Pledge (starting in our own hometown), but at the same time have become friends with folks who support his actions. These new friends include local, in-state, national and even international supporters: they are the unknown as well as the rich and famous; they are as young as Will, to those much older than his in-house grandma! These last 24 hours have been especially stressful on Will's parents, as they have endeavored to protect him from the negative comments stemming from his story, while spending much of the afternoon gathering supporters' awareness of the national religious-conservative campaign launched against the mayor and city council of Fayetteville. Thank you.

Excellent. You have provided the facts of this situation out in a fairly nonjudgemental (tremendously difficult thing to do, I'm sure) manner. Diversity and tolerance are what makes a university town, such as, Fayetteville, a great place to live in and around. Our children need to be exposed to pure love. They need to stand up for the rights of people to love and to be loved. They need to learn and know that there are many positive ways to experience life while still respecting and embracing the differences of others. Great job, again, with the piece. Chin up and march on!
